A Personal Note From Bud
To all of my past clients- I am so very grateful for the opportunity to have worked with you. Each of your albums has meant a lot to you, and also to me.
My absence from mastering came as a result of several family tragedies that struck concurrently from 2001 with the unexpected death of my father, right up to 2007 when I almost lost my wife. During these years we’d lost several members of both families to accident, age, and suicide, and truly was the most difficult time in both of our lives. As one might imagine, it was nearly impossible to focus on such exacting work as audio mastering and felt I had little choice but to walk away from it just to heal.
During this time, I had done a few select albums for close friends and long time clients – it reminded me how much I loved the work and by 2008 had been approached by more past clients who finally hunted me down! More albums had accrued and before long I got the bug all over again. So, it is with great pleasure that I announce my return to mastering.
Currently, I have developed a great association with Mr. David Jewer of Spin Digital Media in North Vancouver, BC. David has a wonderful private mastering studio and it is here that I now do all of my work. He has gear that I only dreamed of having back in the day but also much that I am familiar with. It’s a very comfortable room with a similar work-flow as my previous studio and the results so far have been fantastic.
I look forward to speaking with both past clients as well as new ones in the months to come and I encourage you to drop me a line, even to just say hi. Thanks so much to you all and here’s to making more great music. Cheers!
